About Cathy Shelbourne

cathy shelbourne

Sea Shell Communications was established in 2012 by Cathy Shelbourne, a PR and marketing professional who worked at Anglia Television for ten years, regularly appears on radio, and writes for national magazines and local papers. She particularly enjoys writing about travel and heritage, following the award of a Francis Mathew Stationers' Company Scholarship to Hong Kong.

She has also worked as a PR Consultant for companies and organisations in civil engineering, computing, conservation, education, haulage and removals, and public art, as well as organising one-off events as diverse as the nationwide launch of the government’s New Deal, to an international eco-boating conference, trade exhibition and public festival.

Cathy is a very experienced public speaker. She won the Toastmasters International Divisional Contest for best evaluator in 2010, and coaches individuals in presentation skills. See her top tips for success in job interviews in the Daily Mirror.

She is a regular guest speaker on board cruise ships, talking on maritime heroes such as Admiral Nelson and Captain William Bligh, and can be booked through the P & R Agency, or via this website. Cathy is a member of the Yachting Journalists' Association (YJA).
